Cronulla Spring Festival Returns with Record Attendance Expected
The Cronulla Spring Festival is set to return this September with organisers expecting record attendance following last year’s successful revival. The three-day event will transform Cronulla Mall and surrounding areas into a celebration of local community, featuring over 100 stalls, live entertainment, and family-friendly activities.
Running from Saturday September 28 to Monday September 30, the festival coincides with the September long weekend, making it an ideal outing for Sutherland Shire families.

Supporting Local Business
Festival coordinator Michelle Torres emphasises the event’s focus on supporting local enterprises. “Every vendor at the festival is from the Sutherland Shire or greater St George region,” she explained. “This is about keeping money in our community and showcasing the incredible talent we have right here.”
New this year is the “Shire Startup Alley,” where local entrepreneurs can pitch their businesses to festival-goers and potential investors. The initiative was developed in partnership with Sutherland Shire Council’s economic development team.
Transport and Access
With large crowds expected, organisers recommend using public transport:
- Train: Cronulla Station is a 5-minute walk from the festival
- Bus: Routes 985 and 987 stop directly at Cronulla Mall
- Cycling: Secure bike parking available at Cronulla Park
- Parking: Limited street parking; consider council car parks on Gerrale Street
The festival site is fully wheelchair accessible, with dedicated viewing areas for main stage performances.
Weather Contingency
While organisers are hoping for fine weather, contingency plans are in place. “We’ve arranged marquee coverage for key areas,” Torres said. “A bit of Sydney spring weather won’t stop us.”
Tickets and Information
Entry to the festival is free, though some workshops and activities require pre-booking. Visit the Cronulla Spring Festival website for the full program and workshop registrations.
The festival opens at 9am on Saturday September 28. The opening ceremony, featuring a Welcome to Country from local Dharawal elders, begins at 10am.
“We want everyone to come out and celebrate what makes our community special,” Torres concluded. “It’s going to be a fantastic weekend.”
